SCOPE 2022 recap.
We were back! Just last month, members of the Praxis team were able to join colleagues at SCOPE: Summit for Clinical Ops Executives both in person and remotely.
Specific to the enrollment planning and patient recruitment space, it was great to see almost every presentation at the event either focus on or mention diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in clinical trials. It was great to hear case studies on how sponsors and vendors are starting to make progress through a variety of strategies, from grassroot efforts to new tech tactics. While the industry still has a long way to go, it was reassuring to hear that DEI efforts seem to be a focus for everyone.
Decentralized clinical trials was of course another topic. Though much of the push was born out of necessity from COVID, the practice is now continuing to be implemented and fine-tuned to keep patient and caregiver burden minimal. Praxis is along for this journey, as we work with sponsors to develop new tools to keep patients educated and engaged. These efforts, in addition to the new solutions for data management, wearables, patient portals, etc., will continue to drive this model forward.
A highlight of the conference was, of course, watching our SVP Robert Loll present alongside our friend Amanda Decoker at Takeda during a fireside chat – they talked through patient retention and recruitment in a post-pandemic world.
Can’t wait for SCOPE 2023! But in the meantime, follow us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter.
